Trevor Noah, Canadian Election for Dummies

Trevor Noah, Canadian Election for DummiesOther than bad gawdawful Canadian rap music compared to bad gawdawful Canadian folk music, what can be learned from the election of the Canadian Liberal Party and Jason Trudeau?

Before defining the three major parties in Canada we must first understand that they color electoral maps showing conservatives as blue and liberals as red up there in opposite land.

Next we must realize that the Conservative Party is much like our old moderate Republican Party and that the New Democratic Party (NDP) is pretty far left which we could put in the lap of Bernie Sanders while the Liberal Party would be more like Hillary Clinton.

Though these two maps only 4 years apart are striking…

Quite a bump for the Liberal Party. But what were the issues that drove such a revival?

We can see the blue areas of OIL, GAS, PIG FARMING and where no one lives reflecting much the same politics as here in the United States, but I am told this election was not about policy as much as it was about a strong personal dislike for snotty corrupt conservative Stephen Harper.

Though the top issues Jason Trudeau did campaign on were pulling out of war in the Middle East, opening up more immigration and standing up for Muslims and other ill favored religions.
