John Oliver sees the disturbing writing on the cross – er wall, as Donald Trump emerges free and ‘unshackled.’ The candidate, once tightly constrained by the GOP is free at last to wage war on Hillary, his own campaign and democracy. Decency, truth and good taste succumbed long ago.
Trump warns followers:
“There’s a conspiracy against you, the American people and WE…CAN..NOT…LET…THIS…HAPPEN..OR…CONTINUE!” John points out; “This is not the kind of thing a man running for president says. It’s the kind of thing a man in a tin foil hat screams in his concrete bunker because he believes his soup cans have been bugged by the lizard people in the White House.”
Maybe so, but it’s becoming the ‘new normal.’ If Trump’s previous speeches were bizarre, the Sermon From the Unshackled is Twilight Zone country. Suffering the slings and arrows of a doomed world, he alone fights the evil, the vile corruption of a ‘rigged’ system. Trump makes another promise to his followers, verily, he will take them to heaven! Does this sound familiar at all?
