Video Colin Powell endorses Obama because Republicans gone too far to the Right
on October 19, 2008 at 2:13 pmGoing down the list of General Powell’s reasons to endorse Barack Obama, everyone of them – other than his delight in Obama’s "intellectual flare" – is about the GOP (his party) going too far to the Right. Or to the Base.
Whether his stated disregard for Sarah Palin, his anger at the GOP for using Ayers and Hussien to play Obama as a terrorist, his fear of two more right-wing Supreme Court Justices, his dislike for the Republican saber rattling, his sadness that his friend John McCain has sank into the right-wing mire that has become the Republican Party along with the narrowing and exclusiveness of the Republican Party – Powell’s repetition of these themes run so strongly through his endorsement of Barack Obama all else is seem mostly irrelevant to the General.
The Republican Party has become the Party of Joe the Wingnut…
Watching the Sunday shows this morning, we find the Right is high on Joe the Plumber! They got their weekly good fix of intolerant, bigoted self interest from an idiot. What the base so admires and is in such need of.
But no one of any worth can even hint around at such things. If they here it going there, word gets out, and that mass of intolerant, bigoted selfish idiots that is the American Voter will put down their plungers and rise up out of cesspools of America with more voter turnout than ever though possible. So please… Shhhhhh…

Rack Jite Quotes
I wonder if there was an offer of something…
I saw him last night and he denied that there had been an offer.
I got the feeling he had a very difficult time tip toeing between his “old friend” McCain, and Obama…but had to speak up even though it’s now proven to him more than ever what the far right is all about. He’s had to wear full body armor to protect him from slings and arrows.
Makes you wonder what he ever saw in George. Powell actually has a conscience and that makes you wonder how he could ever form part of the Republican party as the shift to extremes has been under way for a while in that party. In any case, at least he has the strength to come out against his own party, not for politics or personal gain, but for the good of the country. Well said General.
