This has a good ending, wait it out!
Holyhockerlockers! I went through this very same thing about 10 years ago. I had the habit of watching C-SPAN each morning to listen to the silly callers, to get the pulse of the times. It was mostly Right wingers claiming they were Democrats or Moderates so they could hijack all three dedicated lines; Republicans, Democrats and Other.
It was funny. I remember one day they had on radio host at the time Al Franken, he literally pounded his forehead on the table as all three lines were callers accusing him of being an SNL cocaine addict. Which not surprisingly, Rush Limbaugh had made mention of the day before.
About 10 years ago I finally and forever pulled the plug on C-SPAN.
In just a few days the owner Brian Lamb did such suckup interviews with Jesse Helms, R. Emmett Tyrrell (American Spectator), Bob Dornan and the interview that broke my habit, with Ann Coulter who he smooched so much I assumed they must be lovers. That was the end of C-SPAN forever for me.
I suppose one can argue that extreme moderation is a wonderful thing, but giving such horrid hatemongers, MORE than a free ride only gives them far more credibility than they deserve. I have not watched any C-SPAN channel since.
