Gold Plated Bee A-choo!: Liz Cheney, daughter of war profiteer and former V.P. Dick Cheney, is counting upon listeners of her anti-Obama screed to be as memory challenged as she appears to be. The junior Cheney sought to indict Obama for
the lack of vigilance shown by her father Dick and former President Bush. In her ill-advised attempt to condemn the President, Cheney based her lengthy condemnation as did many right-wing pundits today, to one edited sentence lifted from Bob Woodward’s new book. The President is quoted as saying,"We can absorb a terrorist attack."
Woodward quotes Obama as saying: "We can absorb a terrorist attack. We’ll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever . . . we absorbed it and we are stronger."
This quote in no way indicates the lack of vigilance Cheney strives to emphasize, but does again raise questions of the legality and motives behind her father’s rush to a war which still helps to fill her trust fund to overflowing, and the Bush Administration’s intentional failure to act upon intelligence which would have prevented 9/11. The balls are brass and enormous on this one, the Dark Side saga continues.
