Samantha Bee takes us back to 2010, and the boring, who-cares midterm snooze-fest that was the most important election of your lifetime. Who knew? Of course, politicians call every election ‘the most important election in modern times.’ But Sam assures us that the most important election already happened, we didn’t vote in it, and we got our asses handed to us.
Oh, but some people made sure to vote. The people who always remember. to vote are the old, the white, and the super-cranky types who were even crankier than usual, for some reason. You probably remember that many of them donned three cornered hats, and played Tea Party a lot. When the dawn broke, they had elected nearly every Republican in the land to oppose our shiny new President. They did – oppose him, and they’re still at it. Those folks voted really well!
As Sam says, the things the midterm decides effect us one thousand times more than the results of the general election do – unless by some chance, Trump wins of course.
