Jon Stewart, Gay Marriage and the Supreme Court

And this 70 year old couple, no matter how much they’re fking, and they’re fking a lot – in the sit down shower, on that electric stair chair, bent over the mahjong table – they’re not having kids, is theirs not a constitutional worthy fk-fest filled love as well?

jon stewart gay marriage supreme courtIn that we have just one argument against this crap that marriage is only for procreation. Tell that to all my married friends who never had kids. Most of whom happen to be obnoxious Republicans for some crazy reason.

But the elephant in this room concerns how those against gay marriage scream and yell about activist courts making up laws or going with the flow rather than strict adherence to the constitution when all of their arguments on this issue, all of them, are about religion, culture and whose ox is being gored rather than what The Constitution says:

Amendment XIV Section 1.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

And there you have why all appeals courts have come down on the side of gay marriage. The Constitution says so. PERIOD.

The Republicans on the Supreme Court in this case are ignoring the both the constitution and the law, while basing their decisions upon activist religious beliefs, activist emotions, and activist outcomes which is the direct opposite of what these same Republican justices preach day in and day out.

What about the liberty and freedom argument? The gay marriage side is about laws to give freedom and liberty to DO, while the anti gay marriage side is about making law to take away freedom and liberty only because some people don’t like it. Hey Republicans, don’t marry someone of the same sex. There you go, end of story. Same goes for abortion, birth control, and changing your sex.  Is there anything about religion that is not about sex?
