On the run from back to back election defeats in 2006 and 2008, the loss of both Houses of Congress, getting tossed out of the White House, responsible for the biggest economic crash since the Great Depression and losing what few moderates were left in the party, the Republicans were in disarray.
Well until this week anyway…
Sarah Palin is the most respected Republican in America. With polls showing that today she would easily win the GOP nomination for President she organized her PAC yesterday and is on her run for President.
God, Guns and Gays Youbetcha!
Everyday Rush Limbaugh pushes his hate-America campaign a little further over the line. He has worked the media to now declare him the leader of the Republican Party. He has so filled the leadership vacuum that House members are calling his show to honor him for saying he hopes Obama’s plan fails and that people are only voting for it because Obama is Black.
Three divorces, no children, morphine addict and family values spokesman. Perhaps the most disgusting human being in American history. Our leader! Indeed, Rush Limbaugh, character matters.
With President Obama’s approval rating at 70%. After Obama brought Republicans to the White House in a non partisan manner, the House Republicans reciprocated by each and every one of them voting against the President’s stimulus package – as Rush Limbaugh told them to do. Each and everyone of them also voted against Obama on the very mundane bill to extend the anualog tv signal for 4 months.
It would seem that the GOP is deyfing common sense. Being a wholes to insure there is no doubt in anyone’s mind just what a wholes they are. It now has a name. Limbaughnics. The process of being as abrasive and disgusting as possible while sticking to every crazyass conservative issue that the last 28 years has proven wrong, doing it all over again but harder and more of it.
I came across this letter to the editor in the Houston Chronicle today that I think explains where the GOP is these days:
Contrary to Krugman’s arguments about conservative “talking points’ regarding the stimulus, most conservatives couldn’t care less about what a public sector job costs or what a free school lunch costs. Their argument is based on the morality of a government whose absolute power allows the taking – by force – of one citizen’s assets to the benefit of another citizen. The resulting costs are immaterial.

There you pretty much have what a Republican is. Their tax money going to anything that helps anyone else is IMMORAL. And they have American Christianity backing them up. They have successfully pushed that rotten twaddle upon the rest of us for 28 years now.
IT IS NOW OVER, THEY CAN GO TO HELL.
