They got the ugly, they got the white, they got the overweight, but they missed the old and the Paula Deen.
For us old fogies this Tea Party crap is very familiar to the John Birch Society of the 1950s. Both came to the forefront of American politics over the very same issue. For the Birchers it was Integration with the unanimous Brown v Education decision, and with the Tea Party Ugly it was the election of an African American as president. Make sure to understand the Tea Party Ugly began well before they knew anything about Obamacare, which was a Republican idea until a black guy got hold of it.
Of course not all Tea Party Ugly affectionadoes may be racists, but just as it was with the John Birch Society, race was the impetus that drove the politics.
The Good News? So how many of you remember the John Birch Society? Or ever heard of it? The politics of hate fizzles eventually. My guess is the Tea Party Ugly will no longer be around come 2017, And if Hillary wins, we will also regain the Supreme Court and once again move this nation forward rather than backward.
