Hip Hop artist Clifford Harris (T.I.) was refused bail today. His lawyers failed to get a .2 million bond set because the Judge said he needed a few weeks to think about it. Having had teenagers come of age during the Hip Hop hegemony, I admit to having no love for the genre. My ire is based upon two things. First the horrible themes of violence, guns, vengeance and foul sexist machismo. Secondly my inability to find much of any musical talent within the genre other than content driven bass-up Disco that’s easy to dance to.
With that said this particular Hip Hop clown – along with the recent steady stream of other Hip Hop clowns – is thankfully and finally helping bring down this crap that never had any clothes to begin with. The most crippling self imposed cultural phenomenon in African American History.
T.I. has had drug and gun violations before, he is a Felon who cannot own guns, has been on probation for 7 years, was caught trying to buy machine guns and silencers, was found to have a small arsenal in his car and a full crazyass arsenal at his home. Put this Hip Hop creep in a cell next to fellow Hip Hop creep Michael Vick.
