Catilyn Flanagan’s recent article in The Atlantic delves into the college campus war for political correctness, concluding that the war is over and the PC police have won it.
I take issue with that. No the PC police have not won this war, Republicans have. It has been their mainstay argument in the destruction of not only the word LIBERAL but conservative political ascendance since Rush Limbaugh based his show upon it in 1988. No other issue has moved more independents, moderates and Democrats to the Republican fold than political correctness. NO ONE LIKES TO HAVE SOMEONE SHAKING THEIR FINGER IN THEIR FACE.
To see the effect of it, we can see both Bill Maher nor Catilyn Flanagan railing against political correctness afraid to say that the PC police are for the most part, women. So indeed the war is over, but it is the GOP who is the big winner. Kick’s page on Political Correctness
I found this crap rearing it’s ugly head on the VIEW this week. In response to Donald Trump’s War on Mexicans, Kelly Osbourne asked, “Who will clean our toilets if they are sent back?” The women on the VIEW came down on her like a ton of tampons [yeah, I stand by that]. All Kelly Osbourne did was use a few words to say the same thing all detractors of this “deport them xenophobia” are saying – who will be our nannies, our maids, our roofers, our garbage men or cut our grass. She was on the right side of this, on the politically correct side, and just used one wrong word which has forced her to now apologize to the entire world and perhaps lose the job she was looking for at the View.
You know what my kids heard from their dad more than anything else.
