Not everyone is screaming like a banshee at the approach of the protestors in Washington DC. In fact, the "mob" was welcomed by Democrats. DC is only one of many cities across the country to quietly stand up to Wall Street, but to hear Eric Cantor it is the Burning of Atlanta (for you Civil War buffs).
Cantor has not always been leery of such mobs, in fact he was a participant in the early Tea Party gatherings. What is it that makes this protest so different than the Cantor-approved rallies? The Tea Party gatherings were attended by Tea Party members only. Occupy Wall Street consists of a broad cross-section of Americans – including some Tea Partiers! Secondly, they were against raising taxes on the top one percent. It wasn’t their fault, they thought those nice ‘Coke Brothers’ were only donating refreshments.
