Of course you haven’t forgotten Sandra Fluke, the woman who ‘just has to have so much sex that she can’t afford her own birth control pills.’ If your memory requires a jog, Rush Limbaugh declared it only fair that she and others who use birth control make prom videos for taxpayers like himself to view. As a multimillionaire, his tax-paying is in question! This slanderous gutter crawl by Limbaugh revealed much more about his genuine lack of understanding regarding women’s sexuality than his intended motive, which was to spread misinformation (rather, lies) about Planned Parenthood and private insurance programs for women, which are not funded by the government.
Within two days, Limbaugh had cycled through the steps of realizing sponsor loss. 1. Denial that he had slandered Ms Fluke and more insults. 2. A back-handed apology, which included more slander. 3. An apology which sounded more sincere to the untrained ear – backed by a conspiracy theory blaming President Obama and ‘The regime’ for putting those words into his mouth – you know, dummy-style, like Madame and Waylon Flowers.
