Besides being funny as Hell, this video with it’s self deprecation and over the top gayness, shows just how far we have come along on this issue.
How fast it happened is most entirely due to the closet door opening, we find many of our family members, friends, co workers, neighbors and acquaintances are gay and little different than the rest of us. It shows we can change for the better QUICKLY with no going back.
Arriving at the same success regarding racism is much harder. The processes of various forms of integration to create cross racial friends and family are not accepted by the majority of White Americans. Integrating schools, affordable housing, busing, affirmative action are all anathema to most of White America. There is no closet, there is a front door and it opens very slowly.
