In an interview with the AP on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of Fox News, Roger Ailes dropped a bomb shell. "I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings." He was deflecting criticism that the channel is politically biased—as in, he hired her for ratings, not her politics. Well done that cleared the matter up quite well Uncle Roger! Ailes may soon be rethinking the hiring of Palin as he continues to clear the decks of radical hosts such as Glenn Beck. For other reactions to the statement click here.
In other news, Sarah will not run for president! What a surprise, I may need to lie down for a bit. Five days ago Palin announced that she was ‘too maverick’ to be president, and stated that the ‘title’ would tie her down. Today she has a more polished reason for declining – other than consistently running last in the polls.
"As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision," she wrote to supporters. "When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order." The full text of her letter is here
