"This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do. Today I will be taught the word of God. I boldly confess my mind is alert, my heart is receptive; Ill never be the same. In Jesus name, God bless you." The words Joel Osteen blinks to his Sunday crowd of 40,000 at $10 a head – you do the math – in the old Houston Rockets Summit/Church where ACDC used to play Highway to Hell.
Osteen has achieved the pinnacle of ‘preachin’- a 16,000 seat mega church in Houston, which is the largest in the United States. He has uncountable wealth, and no doubt that this is what God planned for him. Osteen is what millions of other preachers with enormous congregations long to be.
Piers Morgan interviews Osteen who admits that your blessings might not be as bountiful in the green stuff as in other intangibles. The part of the interview where Osteen speaks out against gay people and of course gay unions can be seen in this clip. Oddly, Osteen can find scripture to conveniently fit his views on the subject, but the page about camel, the eye of a needle, heaven and a rich man seem to be missing from Osteen’s King James version of the Bible
