Marilyn Davenport, an elected official of the Orange County Republican Party, and a Tea Party representative sounds like an email joke-list kind of gal. Naturally, when she found the knee-slapper of a photo-shop special of President Obama snuggled within the ape family group, with the oh-so-clever birther punch line, she couldn’t resist sending it to approximately 10,000 of her closest friends – many of whom were upset. In true joke list style, the sender had no clue or a care about the sensibilities of her daily email victims.
The Republican Party of California has asked (in vain) for her resignation, and now must proceed with an ethics investigation. Just to give you some insight into ‘Chuckles’ Davenport; rather than apologize, Davenport called for the "coward" who leaked it to step forward! Davenport, in protecting her wacky sense of good matured humor stated: "I am not a racist, I have friends who are black." You didn’t see that statement coming at all, did you. In fact there is a Facebook group called People Against Racists That Think They’re Not Racists.
