Jimmy Kimmel observes that while it’s absolutely frigid in most of the country, the weather is in the balmy in Hollywood where they tape the show. Despite the spring-like weather in California, people are dressed like it’s freezing! Californians have donned their puffer coats, wooly sweaters, faux fur, boots and scarves! Jimmy wonders if the overdressing by Californians is insensitive to friends in colder climes, where we’re experiencing the coldest winter in 30 years! On the supposition that it is indeed insensitive, Jimmy sent his cousin Sal out to force people to apologize.
Do you remember the last time it was this cold? Ronald Reagan was in the White House. Beverly Hills Cop was at your local theater. “Where’s the Beef” and “I’ll be back” were the big quotes and Prince was busting out hits “When Dove’s Cry and “Let’s Go Crazy”
The National Weather Service says that so far this winter is running about 7.5 degrees colder than average through December and January, but when you add up all the highs and lows you come up with 10.2 degrees. If it makes you feel any warmer, this is ‘only’ the 17th coldest winter on record going back to 1894…We can still shoot for 15th or 16th coldest winter, America!
