Seth Meyers takes a humorous look at the escalating conflict between Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, who heated things up in their most recent debate. Democrats may have good ideas and and realistic policies that will move the country forward – but Americans want to see blood on the debate stage, and that is where Republicans shine. On the Democratic side, Bernie and Hillary can be counted upon to give a full and fair airing of their mutual respect and agreement.
The most reliable indicator that Hillary and Bernie heated things up is the internet. Twitter-spats, ‘back and forths’ and even Twitter-wars reportedly broke out between supporters of the two. The pinnacle of the online wars took place on Tinder, where the dating site ejected Bernie supporters for heated campaign discussion, which apparently does not foster romance.
Seth breaks down the most feisty debate where Hillary defended her alleged ties to Wall Street, then accused Bernie of practicing an”artful smear.” I don’t know how artful his smear is, but his pointer finger is often present. What does it mean? The two did agree loudly to “TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES.” The debate ends well with Bernie and Hillary expressing genuine respect for one another. In fact, it looks as though a vote for one, is a vote for both of the candidates, with a V.P. spot on the table. You surely can’t argue with Bernie when he says; “On our WORST days we are one HUNDRED times better than any Republican candidate!”
