Thanks to the 24-hour news cycle, this has been a month in which it was impossible not hear an anualysis of every approach to the Libya problem that President Obama should have taken – or not. It’s refreshing to hear Bill Maher give a brief and well considered answer about the President’s address and the manner in which he acts on such major issues.
Maher also fields questions about Republican front-runners, otherwise known as those who have launched exploratory committees. Although this is a ‘serious’ interview, Maher cannot help but compare Iowa to a "Roach motel for Republican candidates," and as a comedian he knows that whoever wins the nomination it will mean rich material for his show.
It occurs to me that simply because Maher calls himself a comedian, that unlike Rush Limbaugh for instance, it does not mean that he states the truth any less often than so-called serious news channels, and he definitely has the edge over one fair and balanced network ‘news’ channel in particular.
