This ad for Cletus J McClintock is the kind of political ad we see here in Texas all the time, the rifle is always present, usually in a field with a horse, with the words “Christian”, “Republican”, “Conservative” and “Family values” blaring from the screen, the word WHITE is not used as this is a video so no need.
This letter to Iran written by Tom Cotton and signed by all but seven United States Republican Senators, removes 200 years of executive branch foreign policy transcendence handing that process over to to a right-wing nationalist political party opposed to democracy and liberalism. Or as it used to be called, fascism. To make that point even more horrifying, the author of the word defined it as the trifecta of corporate money, the military and the church together in harmony leading a nation into exceptionalism and racial purity.
How are Republicans doing on race relations? How much of the Republican seething hatred of President Obama is driven by racism? Who is suppressing the vote in all Republican held states? What about the Republican core of the Supreme Court giving us Citizen’s United? How about just in one week hearing the war drums pounding from the GOP House with Netanyahu and from the GOP Senate by this letter to Iran? And how on Earth did Jesus Christ become the representative of the NRA? The NRA and its cadre of gun enthusiasts, or what were once called Brownshirts.
There is far more truth in what I just wrote in those last two paragraphs than anyone wants to admit. ADAF
