In a New York Times op-ed, Warren Buffett contradicts everything Rick Perry and the Republican Party in General stand for. Who are you going to believe? Buffet is fully aware that those in his employ pay a higher percentage of their income than he and others in the top two per cent of the entire country. Oddly for a fat cat, Buffett feels that this is very wrong!
"My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice." Warren Buffett ( The Buffett without the Parrot head)
Perry, on the other hand would have you believe that fully "Half of all Americans don’t pay income taxes!" Hint: They earn under $18,000 (often way under), and are not required to pay income tax. They do however, pay local sales tax (where applicable) , property taxes, federal gas and excise taxes, and best of all – payroll tax on every dollar!
To top this Texas cow patty, statistics show that those whose income was lowest paid the most percentage of state and local taxes. Those like Gov. Perry, on the high end looking down paid the least percentage of their incomes.
He must win, if someone got in and ruined Perry’s carefully constructed tax law it wouldn’t affect his affluent life style one whit. But we don’t want the people who are the backbone of his alternative income program getting crazy ideas and dropping the yoke.
Due to Perry’s machinations during the stimulus money hand-outs did he refuse to take the amount offered. Hardly, he came out of the deal with more than originally offered. Would you buy a used car from this man?
