In his ‘This Really Happened’ segment, Seth Meyers rolls out bizarre events that actually happened – so far this year, including the Philippine President’s insult to Obama, and a Trump-shaped cloud that can be interpreted to mean that the Creator wants us all to blow up in a mushroom-shaped cloud.
If the events we’ve come to accept as daily news were instead written by George Orwell, and read decades ago, we’d think that Orwell had finally come unhinged on this novel, and expected us to believe the improbable. Seth observes: “I don’t know what’s worse, a violent dictator who insults our President or someone who still wears hairspray in 2016.” I have to wonder why a group of coal miners want to hear about Trump’s sealed ‘ozone-proof’ apartment and his battle with hair spray. Do you suppose he was just trying to make them feel that he was ‘just one of the boys.’ You know, someone – who like them, puts in a day underground and frets about whether his hair is still in place at the end of a long day? Trump is famous for his empathy. Just recently he read body language in a security briefing. As sensitive as Trump is, it’s no wonder that he shares the frustration and anger of the baby boy (photo) completely and utterly.
