If you have never experienced a close family member or friend suddenly finding Jesus this is what it is like, the sudden appearance of a new person with a new language that only fellow travelers seem to understand. But no matter Jesus, Moses, Mohammad or Buddha, it’s always a matter of need. A cure for unhappiness, poverty, crime, loneliness, addiction and just not being able to intellectually keep up.
Take Jehovah’s Witnesses for example, sure no Christmas, no birthdays, no presents, no music, no blood and the end is near goes without saying, but it is less known that they not allowed to go to college. Just one semester of which will more than likely make them smart enough to walk away from that silly crap.
I have a friend who is very into ancient astronauts, UFOs and Area 51 stuff, all our other friends make fun of him, I never do. It was easy for me to accept his belief system for two reasons.
First other than evolution, aliens seeding the Earth is far more logical and reasonable than any other explanation anyone has ever come up with.
Secondly, instead of thinking in terms of Daniken books or spiky haired nitwits on TV who begin every sentence with “If…” think in terms of Arthur C. Clark, Stanley Kubrick and 2001 Space Odyssey.
