What so many of us fail to understand is that to about half of America, racism, bigotry and religious intolerance are things to be both personally and regionally PROUD OF. It’s hard for many of us to understand how they can screech on and on about FREEDOM and LIBERTY while they refuse to apply it beyond shotgun range. It is as if there is an intellectual plateau they just cannot rise above. Which again comes back to the basic issue of not being able put themselves in someone else’s shoes. A genetic disposition? Or… Perhaps it is just REFUSING to put oneself in someone else’s shoes?
