Scott McClellan, the Bush Administration’s Press Secretary through the buildup of the Iraq War has a new book, What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception.
Leaks from the book hit the wire this morning and the Bush Administration is none too pleased. McClellan calls Karl Rove and Scooter Libby dishonest by deceiving the American people with the reasons for war and claims the press was complicit with that deception. He also points fingers at the administration’s outing of Valarie Plame and the failed response to Hurricane Katrina.
Of course the book is to cover McClellan’s butt for all the lying and deceit he was forced to push, but he must also be given some credit for the unusual aspect of a Republican being honest and forthright. Something you can be sure you will never hear or read from the likes of Tony Snow. At least now they have a deceitful liar with a pretty face! Exclusive: McClellan whacks Bush, White House
