Watching Christopher Hitchens yapping across the networks to sell his new book God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything has given me pause to think about accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior.
Mr. Hitchens can go on anyone’s Top Ten List as the ultimate condescending, elitist, snot nosed wanker in the world of talking heads. No wonder he was let go from the top progressive magazine, The Nation, to work for one with a name more akin to his personality, Vanity Fair.
Hitchens is an unrepentant backer of George W. Bush and the War in Iraq. He extrudes blanket bigotry toward all people of faith. He aims such vitriol towards Mother Theresa, Princess Di, and Bill Clinton one would think the trio are in league with Beelzebub to destroy humanity. He is also so often drunk on camera he generates more booing from audiences than even OJ Simpson has managed, which he responds to with a “fk you!” and the finger.
His personality is so intrinsically repellent on every human level that even though I mostly agree with him regarding this book, I find myself saddened when I realize Atheism created this piece of human refuse. So, perhaps many of us are going down the wrong road and need to join the 700 Club!
