This Asia trip by the President is THE example of how the cable news cycle has fouled our politics.
Any president would have had to go to the G20 meeting in Seoul, Korea. And any president would have gone to China. And any president with a lick of sense would have also gone to the biggest democracy in the world, India and the biggest Muslim nation in the world, Indonesia.
But Rush Limbaugh and talk radio jumped on it as evil and stupid, Fox News cycled it as evil an stupid as their lead for a week, CNN and the networks had to follow Fox to prove they were independent. And what was in reality a wise and required trip became another reason for the up coming Republican call for impeachment of another Democratic president.
