Joe the Plumber, the intellectual standard of Ohio politics, blames just about everything on gun controls. 100,000 Americans are shot every year, that’s about 300 a day or so. There is some fun math here! 30,000 die each year from bullets. Let’s see now, the war in Afghanistan has lasted 10 years and we have lost about 2000 Americans. In that same time frame we have lost 300,000 Americans at home from bullets. That’s more than 100 times as many Americans killed at home by guns than killed in our longest war. Over a million shot in that same amount of time. But that’s GOOD! Right?
