North Carolina is on to something! If Republicans do not like science, or facts, or studies or reality, just pass laws against it. After all Republicans have super majorities in not a few states, Texas included, so they can literally do anything they want.
Oops. Wait a minute… Federal courts can override the worst of their legislation claiming it is unconstitutional. Wait a minute… Republican politics is not wholly based upon giving the rich a break and pushing Christian Evangelical intolerance, recall the War of Northern Aggression. And the subsequent angry seething hatred of FEDERAL COURTS using that GODDAMN 14th Amendment for everything a good confederate reactionary would like to pass. Like voter suppression laws now in most every GOP controlled state legislature.
This is not far fetched at all. Republicans have been doing this very thing for generations… EONS! ERAS! MILLENIUMS!
Laws against gays and gay marriage denying the FACT of immutable cause. Laws against teaching evolution or laws forcing creationism into public schools. Denial of global warming and climate change. It works. On a mostly ignorant voting public who just want to be white.
Oh,and more importantly not have any money they worked for taken by the federal government to give over to lazy unemployed Wetbacks and Negroes. Like Obamacare, Foodstamps, or school lunches for poor children. As Jesus said so well, “Bring unto me the little black children and I will kick their ass.”
