John Boehner’s Large Gavel | ||||
|
I have nothing against weepers. I admit to often tearing up watching movies with happy endings or seeing the protagonists rise up to do the RIGHT THING. The parade at the end of Star Wars always gets me going. And that moment in the Fellowship of the Ring when all the strong leaders are arguing about which group of them will take the ring on the suicidal journey to Mt Doom, and little Frodo quietly says over the raucous din, "I will take it." I am tearing up just typing that.
The difference between myself and John Boehner is that I am tearing up over someone else rising above it all, while on the other hand our Weeping Speaker tears up only over himself rising above it all. This is is part of that genetic difference between Left and Right I often dwell upon. The lack of the POV gene in Republicans. Biologically incapable of putting themselves in another’s’ shoes. Is Conservatism Genetic?
