Comedy PSA From Canadian Rifle Association to American Gun Lovers

The Canadian comedy sketch show ’22 Minutes’ interrupts their programming for this PSA  from Canadian Rifle Association President, Harold Winkblatter to American gun aficionados.
Winkblatter has observed the American love affair with firearms (from afar) – “Get a room, already – geez!  Your sleazy love for guns is really creepin’ us out up here, makes me feel like I’m watching an episode of ‘My Strange Addiction’ (My Wife’s a 12-guage).”  Okay, that was an emotional reaction, and I’m certain Harold apologizes.  He has many amusing observations to share with you, so watch him eh?

By the way, Harold won’t mention it, because he’s not a buzzkill like me, but Canada is a much safer place to be, and perhaps putting teeth into a few laws and regulations is what makes the difference between our two countries.

In Canada, there is a 60-day waiting period to own a gun. Residents must take a safety course and pass both a written and a practical exam to obtain a license, which expires in five years.  Restricted firearms (handguns and automatic weapons ) must be registered with the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program.

*Canada requires a background check that focuses on mental health and addiction. Agents are required to inform an applicant’s spouse or family before granting license.

* This one alone, could save lives in domestic abuse cases. .
