Conrad Murray trial & Michael Jackson by Rev. Al Sharpton

It takes a long time friend of Michael Jackson to understand the multifaceted aspects of this case which has gripped people throughout the world. The repercussions will be long in dispersing and will hit in places some aren’t able to see right now.

Reverend Sharpton reminds us that the trial was not about Michael, it was about an unscrupulous and greedy doctor, and unofficially, an unscrupulous and greedy company which drove the frail, ill Jackson. He needed help not abuse, but that is often the story with great talent, a flip side of tragedy. Perhaps people can forget the bad and remember the little boy who sang with such joy, and later danced with such brilliance that even Fred Astaire picked up the phone to say "Kid you’re really a mover."

For the talking heads who imply that doctors are pill dispensers in white coats. Nothing is further from the truth. Murray was a fluke. Today Americans lead the world again, in under treating pain. We still have a War on Drugs which causes physicians to be absurdly cautious – and more often completely negative when it comes to easing pain or aiding sleep with what are truly safe medications – and that, is my rant for the day.
