. Controversy exploded on The View and in much of the country today in reaction to Trump’s tweeted intention to protect the flag from godless, liberal whiners who are constantly setting it ablaze. The gals of the View did an admirable job of discussing the ramifications of Trump’s thoughtless tweet. Most admirable, they didn’t snatch little Paula Faris bald, but lovingly explained why someone might be frustrated enough to light fire to Old Glory, and why they shouldn’t “Just GO!” as she sweetly suggested.
Trump’s hasty proposal is not only unconstitutional, but his hero Justice Scalia ruled on this very issue! As we know, Trump saves his most bombastic tweets for times when it is likely to distract us from what is actually taking place.

“Trump wrote the tweet shortly after Fox News aired a segment about a dispute at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, which removed the American flag from it’s campus flagpole after protests over his election victory; during one demonstration someone burned a flag.”It’s always personal with The Donald.
