Gun ownership in the United States is 112 per 100 individuals, that includes children, babies and not sure about fetuses. That is twice as much as Serbia which comes in second. Looking at the chart one soon realizes that third world countries hardly have any guns at all, they cost too much. But averaging it out we have about 10 times as many guns on average than the rest of the world, also not surprisingly, about 10 times as many gun deaths.
Playing with math as only 40% of Americans own a gun, that would mean every man, woman and child who do own a gun own about three each. But we have to adjust for children, women, people in nursing homes and jail which makes the average gun enthusiast owning about seven guns each. And of course those like Ted Nugent and NRA Life Members have arsenals of hundreds with pallets of ammunition bringing the average up to about 11 guns per gun enthusiast. Which is still not enough for the NRA.
Since Egypt Air 804 went down on Thursday Morning with a loss of 66 individuals, here in America we have had 200 people shot with 70 of them killed, 5 under the age of 12. Where’s the headlines, why no cable channels going 24/7 on that for two days?
Guns don’t kill people, gun enthusiasts do.
