Talented actor and funnyman David Alan Grier, soon to be seen on the TV series ‘Bad Teacher,’ has asked Jimmy Kimmel to plug a passion project for him. The quick video follows, with Grier in the role of spokesman. The project is a much-needed educational book, titled “How To Tell Black People Apart” by David Alan Grier, who promises it ‘will help you discriminate without discriminating.” You may recognize Grier, whose character ‘Media’ is often compared and contrasted with Tyler Perry whose portrayal of Minnie in ‘The Help” was beyond amazing!
Just kiddin’ – you see? We need this!
The need for the book became widely obvious recently when well-known actor Samuel L. Jackson was mistaken by an interviewer as Lawrence Fishbourne. The interviewer was not in the same room…Lucky that. Jackson is famous for many award winning portrayals, but rarely is he more convincing than when ordering ‘These F-ing Snakes off the plane!” or reading the bedtime favorite “Go the F…To Sleep.” Believe me, it does sound charming when he says it, but I wouldn’t want to call him Lawrence Fishbourne or even Morgan Freeman – all great talents.
To help those who don’t have their black celebrities memorized, Grier has created a simple anagram, which is always a good trick to help train the memory. You can learn what it stands for later!
It’s easy to remember:

There! Soon, you’ll confidently be able to differentiate between Whoopi Goldberg and Li’L Wayne, Kanye West and Puff Daddy – and many more!
