Seth Meyers examines the water crisis cover-up in the Flint, Michigan, and points the finger of blame where it belongs, with Governor Rick Snyder and city officials. When GM stopped using Michigan’s corrosive water on their car engines in 2014, it should have lent credence to complaints residents made as well. To address those complaints, the city altered reports to make it appear the vile-smelling poison coming out of faucets was a clear as mountain spring water. To add insult to injury, people are still paying for delivery of the toxic sludge, and their concerns have been ignored.
It may seem as if embattledĀ Governor Rick Snyder has been unfairly targeted, but his ability to ignore a situation has been magnified by a recent teacher sick-out. Educators have tired of teaching in rat-infested hovels. The Governor of course, blames the teachers for “harming the students” who first bathe in toxic water, then attend school in a crumbling rat hostel.
