This may be a bit old but it’s a Memorial Day classic. It also brings back my political philosophy from when I was 17, covered in pimples and reading Atlas Shrugged, “There are already too many damn rules in this world, so don’t be making up any more for yourself.”
Books are powerful things. I think it was just two years later that I read another book that canceled out Ayn Rand. It was called “Johnny Got his Gun” by Dalton Trumbo. Who was subsequently blacklisted during the McCarthy era. It was another famous liberal who finally hired him under his real name for writing the screenplay for “Spartacus”. You know, Kirk Douglas, who along with Burt Lancaster were the Hollywood Liberals of their day… Commie rats…
