Russell Brand anualyzes Fox News, and their coverage of gun control, and zeros in on Bill O’Reilly, who is in complete denial about gun violence. Brand, who harbors no ill will toward O’Reilly may take decisive steps to bring love into Bill’s stone cold heart.
Over the 4th of July, 82 people were shot in Chicago alone, and 14 are dead. Bill O’Reilly pronounces himself to be more savvy than Garry McCarthy, Chicago Police Superintendent. Asked “what’s different between New York and Chicago?” McCarthy answered, “It’s the proliferation of guns.” In other words, more guns are not making for a safer city – quite the opposite of what we are told by the ‘more guns for everyone’ crowd. In reply, O’Reilly bellowed, “That’s BULL!” Indeed, I’m not sure what stake the Police Superintendent has in misleading the public, but Bill will not hear it from the police or from the two criminal defense attorneys he’s invited to join him. To hear O’Reilly, we should all be armed to the teeth, except black people, of course. What we need is a “Stop and Frisk” law, according to O’Reilly and you’ll never guess which part of town O’Reilly demands the police utilize it, even if it would be breaking the law.
Sense is spoken and ignored, but Brand wants to make a very important point, that is well worth mentioning again.
The point is…“The NRA and the gun lobby are about making MONEY not your RIGHTS! They use rights as they’d use ANYTHING as a masquerade for making money.” Amen to that, Mr. Brand. Now I truly hope you’ll manage to get yourself invited onto O’Reilly’s show. Brand has vowed to kiss Bill O’Reilly forcibly, presumably to snog the nastiness out of him.
The odds of receiving an invitation aren’t very good – unless you can promise to bring Bill’s other obsession, Beyonce’ in with you!
