The Fox bots wasted no time in getting the wrong story out about the South Carolina church massacre. In a trice, the tragedy was reduced from a hate crime – and an act of terrorism to a call for more guns, and another bleating lie about ‘Christian persecution.’
It demeans the victims to talk about imaginary persecution, but I can’t think of a white Christian who has been shot in church, unless you count the man whose gun accidentally went off and shot his mother, during a wedding earlier this spring. Previous to that, a doctor known to perform abortions in Kansas was shot…But that was before ‘Christian persecution” was born.
Lending Fox-like credence was guest preacher E.W. Jackson, a known gun advocate and nutter. Jackson convinced Steve Doocy that the event had been misrepresented as a hate crime based upon race. The killer’s own words would lend credence to that theory, but Doocy was not swayed by the facts.
“Extraordinarily, they called it a hate crime.” said Doocy. ” Some people look at it because it was a white guy apparently and a black church. But you made a great point just a moment ago about the hostility toward Christians — and it was a church — so maybe that’s what they’re talking about.”
Can’t slip anything by you, Dooce, it’s all about Christian persecution. The fact that the unbalanced wanker actually stated that his motives were racial to the surviving witness, means nothing a’tall.
