While it’s hardly a surprise that Fox "News" viewers are less informed than others, but what is astonishing is that they are less informed than those who watch no news at all. To compensate, they’re at the top of the graph where being opinionated is measured, despite their obvious information handicap.
Not surprisingly, NPR listeners are the best informed of all. This may be the reason Republicans periodically launch attacks on NPR, claiming that the 2% of their operating expenses that the pinko network receives from federal funding is an enormous and painful bite out of our national budget – much like that of a baby flea on a rhinoceros.
