Even I can understand the economy after watching this! It is all factual and objective except for a few things early on in the video.
The first question that comes to mind after watching this is I wonder which apocalypse will come first? The financial or the environmental apocalypse? It’s a race to human obliteration! With Republicans leading the way signing pledges to never raise taxes and believing that climate change is a hoax. And about half the voters in America vote for them! No kidding. Really. Seriously they do. Amazing… Jesus sells salvation and 100 round assault rifle drums. Jesus kills.
Also there is the statement that if we curtail entitlements the people will riot. We have seen some of that in London, Athens and Madrid, but here Republicans have been curtailing not only entitlements but destroying unions, firing teachers, fireman and police, reducing their pay and we may make a sign or two and put on a silly mask to complain when the weather is nice, but there have been no riots.
The statement that comes right after that says that if we increase taxes people will riot. The problem with the economy is that we refuse to pay taxes to cover the benefits we enjoy. We are the least taxed nation, yes we are. If we were to raise taxes to close in on parity with the rest of the civilized world – including a payroll tax to cover health care for everyone – it would solve our economic problems in a few years.
Who would riot because of more progressive taxation? You think bankers and Wall Street wonks will put on masks and camp out in our parks? Do you think middle class suburbians who see their 1040 go up 4% are going to take to the streets with pitchforks and torches? Or who pay a payroll tax for health care that is less than they pay now? No. All that will happen is a few Libertarian, Tea Baggers and NRA life members will grab up their AR15s with 100 round clips, their Glock handguns with 20 round clips, and go shoot things up. It’s what the assault rifles and extended magazines are for. There is no other reason for them but to kill as many unarmed Americans as possible without the hassle of reloading. Reloading slows down the carnage, and the last thing REAL Americans want is reduced carnage.
