Of course candidates strive to end the debate with inspiring and memorable words. That is why Herman Cain stood at the podium and ended the debate in this solemn manner: "A poet once said, ‘Life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it’s never easy when there’s so much on the line."
I love me a well-read candidate! Imagine my disappointment when I learned that the ‘poem’ was taken from the lesser works of Donna Summer. That’s right, it wasn’t even from a hit, like "Bad Girls." In fact, it was written just over a decade ago as the theme song for Pokémon: The Movie 2000. That’s not all! Cain has cited the same quote in the past, and attributed it as the closing song of the 2000 Summer Olympics instead of the Pokemon flick – or ‘a poet.’
