Jimmy Fallon asked Tonight Show viewers to respond to Hashtag #WorstSummerJob, and they didn’t disappoint. It’s good that they can laugh about the experiences now – at least I presume they’re laughing by now.
School’s out and the summer jobs are getting scarce. This means you may end up taking a job that is less than desirable too if you don’t hustle. Even if it’s not your dream job, you’ll always have great stories to tell, as you look back with fond amusement, thanking the powers that be that your mom let you move back in.
I learned a lot from this segment, which snatches humor from the jaws of misery. I may be a ‘Devil Worshiper’ and you might be one too. One lucky park employee where a Christian music festival was held, was excoriated as a follower of the horned beast…And just for wearing a certain kind of sunglasses. I mean really, is it demonic to have a bit of style, a little flair, a bit of Savoir–Faire.
Maybe you’ve been an ‘AssManager’ at some time in your life. Perhaps you’ve been unlucky enough to work in a specialty store, where you’re openly considered to be ‘worthless.’ Summer jobs rarely build self-esteem, but these choice bits from Jimmy’s viewers will make you glad you’re not in their shoes.
