Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton visited with Seth Meyers Thursday night, and inevitably, Seth asked Hillary about Donald Trump. While the candidate was sincere when she said she can still laugh at remarks Trump makes about her personally, Seth agreed, when she said of Trump; “I don’t think he’s funny anymore.” Clinton was of course referring to Trump’s incendiary remarks about banning Muslims from the country. Clinton stressed that Trump had gone way over the line, saying the remarks were not only shameful and wrong, but they were dangerous.
Clinton elaborated on the consequences of Trump’s tirade and earnestly called upon Republicans to help rein Trump in.
“This latest demand that we don’t let Muslims into our country plays right into the hands of the terrorists, and I don’t say that lightly. He is giving them a great propaganda tool, a way to recruit more folks from Europe and the United States, and because it’s kind of crossed that line, I think everybody and especially Republicans need to stand up and say ‘enough, you’ve gone too far, that’s not who we are, that’s not the kind of country that we believe we are, and we’re just not going to tolerate it!”
We’ll keep you posted on any move from Republican headquarters to stifle Trump’s outrageous blather, and his subsequent move to Independent status. Republicans, you’ve been called out! Hillary must be unbeatable at ‘Truth or Dare.’
