Houston Chronicle Editorial on Texas Vigilante Joe Horn

The main stream media, in this case the Houston Chronicle (which is a moderate Republican newspaper), cannot take issue with either the religious intolerance, the racist nature or the bloodthirsty gungoonery that runs through the genetic makeup of the the majority of its readership. With the Joe Horn case they express their distaste in terms of vigilantism and the rule of law. Here is an except, the entire editorial is here License to kill – Clearing Joe Horn doesn’t make law-abiding Texans any safer:

Texas tradition and the letter of the law protected 62-year-old Joe Horn this week, when a grand jury declined to charge him for killing two burglars.
But the outcome shouldn’t make other Texas homeowners feel safer. Instead, the shootings show the many reasons why citizens must not be judge and executioner in the courthouse of their own minds.
Exhibit A, of course, is the pair of pellet-riddled corpses, shot in the back and sprawled on Horn’s neighbors’ lawns. One can be disgusted by this taking of life without having to summon a bit of sympathy for the burglars…
Hearing ceaseless reports about crime on the news, then seeing it occur near your own home, naturally stirs up primal, destructive impulses. But no one is safer when Texas enables people like Joe Horn to act on those impulses.

Being from the area, and having many friends and aquaintences in Pasadena, Texas, I do not have to go out on a limb to say that in this case, had the two men been white they would be out on bail today. And if he had shot two white guys, which is absurd, he would have been indicted and facing charges of pre meditated murder. The MSM cannot say such things because even though they know it, they cannot prove it so they are not allowed to tell the truth, only the proven truth.

Though the Chronicle is not going to print the hardcore racist responses to this story, there are a few that do say things well enough. How about this one?  Opens up some food for thought.

Excellent Editorial! – But……the next time two kids are stealing my political signs….I intend to go Joe Horn all over them. And the grand jury cant do a thing to me. Johncoby (online)

And of course the standard Texas crap…

Keep yours, too – Here’s a deal for letter writer George Okamura from California. (Please see "Keep your ‘heroes,’ " Wednesday.) We will gladly keep our heroes like Joe Horn in Texas, provided Okamura and his fellow liberal loonies keep their "heroes" like Nancy Pelosi in California. ROD HUGLEY, Houston )

Who did Nancy Pelosi shoot in the back?
