This manipulated photo by the King Street Patriots leaves no mistaking who they are after and what they are about.
Early voting began here in Houston Monday morning. By evening there were 14 intimidation complaints received by the Harris County Clerk and another 24 received by the Texas Democratic Party. All incidents involving the Tea Party group The King Street Patriots who are being sued in the fast lane by the Texas Democratic Party.
Needless to say these "patriots" are very white Republicans inundating African American voting centers with an "in your face" presence. They are accused of disruption by shouting disinformation and looking over voters shoulders at the voting machine screens.
The problem here is because there is no video – much like the Tea Partiers screaming the NWORD at black congressmen on the steps of the Capital last Summer – this is laughed away as not happening. After all who will Texas Republican believe? Lazy criminal African American looking for handouts? Or a good Christian white person?

I am finally taking notice of that third commitment on the list there, American Exceptionalism. After watching the Frontline/Nova 6 hour PBS documentary on God in America I heard that term constantly. In fact it was the single most refrain in the three part series.
I had never given it much thought until now but American Exceptionalism is a code word. It is not only meant to define America and Americans as better than everyplace and everyone else in the world, but also that superiority is ordained by the Lord thy God. It is the term used by American Evangelical Christianity to hide the actual theocratic meaning of which is that Americans and their GOVERNMENT are the chosen people of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior… and gun toting, war mongering, gay hatin’, Wall Street banker who so enjoys a good execution on Fridays.
