John Oliver’s show taped before the ‘thoughtful and substantive’ Town Hall between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump took place, leaving John no option other than to comment on the tape of Donald Trump and his little pal Billy Bush. More about their bromance later. Certainly by now everyone has seen Trump bragging to a giggling Billy Bush about the perks of fame, and the sexual license it conveys. Oliver thought we had sunk below rock bottom last week. This week, he reasons; “we’ve sunk so low we are breaking through the Earth’s crust where drowning in boiling magma will come as sweet, sweet relief.”
A montage of Republicans grasping their smelling salts, and feigning distaste for Trump’s misogyny is poorly acted. John reminds the righteous GOP that they’ve known this – and so much more about the “pu$$y-grabbing warthog in a red power tie” for a very long time. John gives credit where it is due, with his inimitable humor and accuracy, and – delightfully, no one escapes unscathed!
Oliver reasons that perhaps it was bound to happen this way.
“If life is a computer game and Hillary’s quest is to be the first female president, it only makes sense that her last challenge would be – this block.”
I apologize for the commercial break in the video, but there was no other way to include the piece in its entirety.
