This new poll tells is that 51% of Americans are independents in the middle. Leaving the rest split between liberals and conservatives.
Here are the Democratic issues this mass of the middle support:
Gun control
Abortion rights
Birth Control
Gay Marriage
Religion out of politics
Higher taxes
Government health care
Food stamps
Pre school education
And here are the Republican issues the great middle supports:
Balanced Budget
No Affirmative Action
No citizenship for Immigrants
Deregulation
If we were to have at large elections for everything, the only things Republicans would win at would be keeping blacks down, crapping on Mexicans, a balanced budget amendment, and less regulations.
I take notice that the great middle has become tolerant in most all matters concerning sex while they are unable to shed the racism and ethnic bigotry so inherent in American history, culture and society.
From my dark side comes, I’ll take it the trade off!
From my bright side comes – we have a lot of work to do to help the center understand how vitally important Affirmative Action is in pulling THE BLACKS out of poverty and hopelessness into the middle class. That giving Mexicans already living here citizenship is a good thing for our economy, our society and our politics. That a balanced budget is impossible, and government regulations create an ever fairer and more civilized world.
Donald Trump and now Antonin Scalia have a new word for African Americans, THE BLACKS. The content of that seems to point to some sort of set of people outside. Not part. Some world of their own.
