Over the Summer Joe Scaraborough of MSNBC’s early morning conservative view of things has often fallen into spittle flying angry rants.
What usually sets off this self described moderate Republican from the Florida Panhandle (which is somewhat of an oxymoron) is when anyone, friend or foe, steps up to the plate to decry extraordinary rendition. He literally goes nuts. Leave our tortureres alone for God Sake! Are you not a Christian!
But Scarborough’s most ubiquitous Summer propaganda ploy is to everyday – in fact every few minutes of everyday as there is presently so much of this Republican Wingnut stuff in the news – repeatedly claim that both parties are equally guilty. He has a tissyfit if anyone disagrees. In fact Mika often gently grabs hold of his arm to bring this moderate Florida panhandle Republican back to planet Earth.
With yet another wingnut going discharging recently – South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson – Scarborough is comparing the Birthers to the Truthers. He also turned purple over that old moveon.org ad of General Betrayus. If you want to see this issue in print, the less than intellectual Republican columnist Jonah Goldberg covered it today. Birthers versus Truthers.
Problem being that General Patreaus was not the President of the United States, and moveorg.com was not a congressman. It was also a one time thing, not a Summer full of it. We might also add that moveon.org was not the previous years’ Vice Presidential candidate spewing dirty lies from the internet.
There also is the basic issue that the angst back then was over a REAL LIE that we had to go to war because Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. While this Summer of Republican Wingnuts their lies are all made up.
As to the Birthers being the same as the Truthers, Bill Maher kicked their ass! Bill Maher Gives his Audience an Ass Kicking!
Not a few things wrong with that argument too. The Truthers were not congressmen, and Senators, and Governors and news commentators, and radio and TV hosts, and vice presidential candidates… And again that craziness was based on a real lie that we had to go to war over WMDs. Political craziness based upon something true rather than something made up.
